We are living in strange times where people who are nice and polite to others are the subject of scrutiny and mockery. Conservatives are finding it odd when minorities or woke individuals are critiquing White people for this. Typically, it is exemplary to be nice to people, but for the woke crowd, it is something that should not be done.
According to NPR, for White individuals acknowledging their complicity in America’s racist systems and seeking change, it’s a gradual process, not an instant fix, according to author Robin DiAngelo. Known for her book “White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism,” published in 2018, which has resurged in popularity amid anti-police violence protests.
Furthermore, DiAngelo asserts that the U.S. status quo is racism, and living in such a society is comfortable for white individuals. To maintain protest momentum, she emphasizes the need to make it uncomfortable for whites to benefit from these systems and to establish support for continued discomfort.
A viral video shows some people mocking White people being too friendly on a hiking trail. However, it seems that now people assume that someone being nice is actually problematic or racist. The odd thing is, if they were rude and dismissive, the woke crowd will definitely find a problem with it.

There are several potentially racist comments towards the Black community regarding this whole situation. Users are stating that they feel Black community lacks nice people. Hence they would feel it as weird when someone is nice to them. It is unclear whether this statement is true or not.

Following that, users state that some woke individuals do not place a high value in being kind or nice. This is why when someone, especially a White person is nice to others, it would be seen in a negative light. Users are accusing those filming the peculiar video of not prioritising kindness.

Others state that it would be refreshing to see polite people while you’re out and about. The majority of X users, despite their racial background, prefer those who are genuinely polite to others. Regardless, at the end of the day, the video was done out of comedy. Despite this, people are still finding this offensive as it uncovers a bigger disparity among the woke and non-woke crowd.
