Story of the woman who found an $8,000 couch by the dumpster

Recently, there was a woman who found an $8,000 couch that was left by the dumpster in New York City. However, many were sharing concerns as to the couch’s cleanliness as New York streets are not the cleanest. Furthermore, some felt that the couch could have had a bed bug infestation due to it being out on the streets.

According to Distractify, New York City, famous for its discarded treasures, recently witnessed a social media sensation when a woman found an $8,000 couch on the street. Shared via TikTok under the username @yafavv.mandaa, the video showcased her excitement at discovering her ideal couch.

She details her efforts, alongside her dad and sister, to restore and revive the couch. Cleaning, scrubbing, and allowing it to dry, the prized couch now graces her living room. While many celebrated her fantastic find, not all viewers shared the same enthusiasm, with some questioning her story.

Woman found $8,000 couch by the side of the road

Even after the news died down, there are still many talking about it on social media. Following that, an influencer made a summary of what happened between the woman and the $8,000 couch. However, commenters are still quite weirded out by the couch design, and many of them state that they would pay said amount to have that couch thrown out of their house.

Others feel it weird that some people are genuinely okay with leaving their thousands of dollars worth of furniture by the side of the road. Following that, there are speculations that it could be a knockoff. Despite this, even the fake versions are pretty expensive, and are not cheap to come by.

In addition to this, X users were questioning the woman’s motives on taking the couch. Most would think it crazy for a person to throw away literal thousands of dollars by the roadside. However, some state that New York city is home to one of the richest people on earth, and the cost of the couch would probably be not of any concern to them.

There are others who show that the city is a place to find things that people would discard over time. Several items are seen left by the road sides in order for the trashman or others who would be counted as lucky to take them home.
