Secretly separated for seven years

These comments from Smith come shortly after Jada Pinkett Smith disclosed that they had been secretly separated for seven years. According to her, they reached a point of exhaustion in 2016, as they were both stuck in their own fantasies about each other’s expectations.

Despite their difficulties, Pinkett Smith emphasized her commitment to not allowing their marriage to end in divorce. She explained that they were trying to navigate their partnership and how to present it to the public, which is why they had not openly discussed the state of their marriage previously.

Working on their 25-year union

In another interview with People, Jada Pinkett Smith mentioned that they are currently engaged in intensive efforts to work through their 25-year union, expressing deep love for each other and a determination to find a path forward.

She said that the couple are still trying to find out how to be in a partnership and also how to present it to people. She said that they have not figured that out yet.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were married in 1997 and have two children together, Jaden and Willow. Will also has a son, Trey, from a previous marriage with Sheree Zampino.
