7th graders

A peculiar trend is rising in American and Canadian schools where children as young as the 7th grade are asked to colour their gender identity in school books. Furthermore, conservatives are vehemently unhappy about this as they feel it is disruptive towards the school educational system.

According to the Washington Post, as the number of transgender and gender nonbinary children grows, some schools are addressing gender diversity, even as states like Florida impose restrictions on the subject’s teaching. Teachers are adapting their language and embracing inclusive greetings like “Good morning, scholars!” instead of “boys and girls.” Resources for gender identity education are becoming more accessible.

Furthermore, seven states require LGBTQ topics in curricula, and the National Sex Education Standards highlight gender identity as one of seven essential subjects. Critics argue it’s inappropriate for children, prompting bans and restrictions, extending beyond the classroom to bathroom use and sports participation. Despite being relatively uncommon in American schools, increasing identification as LGBT among young adults is prompting change.

7th graders now asked to colour their gender identity

Libs of TikTok posted photos of the book on X and received a significant amount of conservatives commenting on it. Following that, users state that this is completely unacceptable. Most feel that this is a delicate topic and it would be better for the child, especially for those in the 7th grade to discuss such matters with their parents at home.

In addition to this, users state that this is an advertisement for home schooling. It appears that more conservatives are either sending their 7th grade kids to private school, or they’re homeschooling them. Parents are unhappy with schools promoting the woke ideology to their children, as school is a place to learn mathematics, science, history and language.

Some conspiracy theorists suggest that this is the Democrat government’s agenda to separate children from their parents. They claim that schools are now rewarding bad behaviour and would make a drift between students and their parents. However, this claim is a little too far on the spectrum.
