Tennis player Naomi Osaka and her boyfriend, Cordae, have raised questions about a possible breakup just three months after the birth of their first child. On October 17, the 26-year-old Osaka hinted at a potential separation with a tweet about wanting someone to watch sunsets with. She also removed any reference to the rapper known as “Doomsday” from her Instagram.About a few weeks ago, she appeared to suggest she was single when she posted about the “art of loving yourself” on September 27 and liked a tweet a week earlier about leaving those who didn’t appreciate you.
Notably, Cordae didn’t acknowledge Osaka’s birthday and was absent from her celebration photos. The couple, who have been dating since 2019, also unfollowed each other on social media.
Shai mean’s God’s gift
They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Shai, in July. Osaka explained that “Shai” means “God’s gift” and wanted her to feel like a gift from both her and her dad. Days later, she introduced Shai wearing a tennis onesie. In the post she captioned that it was a cool intermission and now it is back to regularly scheduled programme.
Osaka announced her pregnancy in January through a sonogram on Instagram and expressed her eagerness to return to tennis, vowing to come back stronger in 2023. She said that life is short and she didn’t want to take any moment for granted. Each day is a new blessing and adventure. The mother of one looks forward to have her baby to look at her playing and being proud of her mum.
Returning to tennis
She withdrew from the Australian Open shortly before her pregnancy announcement, but she remains optimistic and committed to her sport, with plans to participate in the 2024 Australian Open.
