Conservatives questioning military tax dollars used for gender affirming surgeries

The controversial topic of individuals who transition their gender is still one of the most debated topics on X. However, a few conservatives are talking about how a soldier is getting facial feminisation surgery via the American taxpayer dollars simply because the individual is in the army.

According to Military.com, in 2021 an Army-wide memorandum states that transgender individuals are now allowed to openly serve in the military. The policy ensures access to hormone therapy, mental health support, and necessary surgeries for gender transition. Major General Douglas Stitt emphasized the Army’s commitment to welcoming all who meet its standards, regardless of gender identity.

Furthermore, the memo ensures that soldiers will not face involuntary separation, denial of reenlistment, or other punitive measures due to their gender identity. The new policy aligns with President Joe Biden’s executive order, overturning a previous ban on transgender service members.

Following that, conservative trans activist Sara Higdon states that surgeries are paid for by the American tax dollars for other procedures as well. She states that these surgeries include breast augmentations for spouses. Furthermore, she adds that some soldiers can also receive liposuction.

Some users are questioning the validity of this entire operation. They ask with regards to how the American military will be strong and mighty if it is full of the LGBTQ+ community. These remarks are rather transphobic and homophobic. However, some joked saying that the military force will be sassier than any other militaries out there.

In addition to this, several users are asking how did these soldiers even pass the test on joining the army. Furthermore, they are accusing the transgender soldiers of being in confusion of themselves, hence they should not be in the military. Others add that they might be exempted from the fitness check.
