Concerning graffiti in Baltimore calling to make White people “extinct”

It is mind boggling on how Americans see race. For most parts of the world, it would typically be more acceptable for someone to be of a different racial and cultural background. Unfortunately, America, a still predominantly White country, is having their majority attacked by minorities.

Typically, it is a given that most people, regardless of their skin colour, would love to live in peace and harmony. However, it seems that a minority of people, which includes White people as well, do not see it like that. Unfortunately, there still allegedly are small towns in the United States that still are “sundown towns.”

According to Yahoo News, Sundown towns, while not reminiscent of the mid-20th century, still exist today. Martinsville, Indiana, labeled as such, harbored the Ku Klux Klan in the 1920s and is known for its racial intolerance, notably marked by Confederate flags displayed throughout the town. Black Indiana University students face challenges as the town lies on the main route to campus.

Similar areas, including Pekin, Illinois, Shelby, Ohio, and Corbin, Kentucky, are also considered unwelcoming to Black travelers. In Salisbury, North Carolina, 21-year-old Angel Pittman faced hostility and vandalism when attempting to establish a mobile hair salon, ultimately leaving due to safety concerns. In California, Burbank and Glendale were once sundown towns, posing challenges for Black residents.

Graffiti stating White people should go “extinct”

Due to instances from both sides, several X users claim that this could possibly be a White person making it all up. However, most conservatives on X vehemently disagree with this rhetoric as they feel racism towards White people are prevalent in today’s America.

Several White people are stating that this will not happen. However, conservatives state that it might just happen one day, similar to what’s going on in South Africa. Furthermore, there are several harsh comments directed to Black Americans stating that if they end up doing so, they would “starve.”

There are several heartwarming comments in relation to this issue. Others feel that the racial divide is pointless and irrelevant. If all the races in America join forces together, they would do more good than bad. Unfortunately, the society we live in today is still rather archaic as people are still openly judging others based on their race.
