French Montana’s private plane searched for narcotics

During a recent visit to Colombia, French Montana had an encounter with law enforcement. As the 38-year-old rapper was departing from Cali, a city southwest of Bogotá, his private jet underwent a thorough search by narcotics officers. While it’s unclear whether he was genuinely suspected of drug trafficking across borders, his social media posts suggest that was the story being told.

In an Instagram video from the tarmac, French Montana expressed his sentiments, saying, “Colombia, I love ya’ll, but ya’ll ain’t have to do me like this. I did not have to have the dogs in there like that. I know we’re the ‘Coke Boys,’ but you ain’t ‘Coke Boys’ for that. The streets are so messed up, they thought I was bringing a big load.”

French Montana and Encounter with law enforcement

In the video’s caption, he wrote, “TRAPPED IN COLOMBIA [Colombian flag emoji]!” He added that they thought French Montana was bringing back the big load, with the hashtag #cokeboys.

Not everyone is as lucky as French Montana. For example, Fetty Wap was sentenced to six years in prison for his involvement in running an extensive drug ring on Long Island.

Selling drugs is not a glamorous lifestyle

Breon Peace, the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, remarked, “Young people who admire the defendant and are considering selling drugs need to be sent a message that selling drugs is not a glamorous lifestyle and that if they are involved in it, they will receive long prison sentences.” A sentence of seven to nine years in prison was requested.

Fetty Wap’s sentencing took place in late May before Judge Joanna Seybert at the federal court in Central Islip, New York. He was arrested on federal drug charges at New York’s Citi Field in October 2021, just as he was preparing to perform at the Rolling Loud Festival. The rapper was accused of being involved in an extensive drug ring on Long Island, allegedly aiding in the trafficking of over 100 kilograms of opioids, crack cocaine, and cocaine.  It was distributed in Long Island from the West Coast.

Loads of drugs

The FBI seized 16 kilogrammes of cocaine, 2 kilogrammes of heroin, fentanyl tablets, two 9mm handguns, a rifle, a.45 calibre pistol, a.40 calibre pistol, ammo, and $1.5 million in cash during the investigation.
