There’s just too many trials where presidential candidate Donald Trump is concerned. His legal team is currently struggling to keep up with the five trials he is facing.
His chief counsel Christopher Kise has requested for a phone in option on the Florida classified documents case on November 1 because he has to be in New York for the civil fraud trial. Kise said that the legal team is being overstretched. He also said that the whole thing was a reckless attempt to convict Trump before the 2024 presidential election.
Lawyers and hearings
One of the lawyers, Kise is supposed to appear before Justice Aileen Cannon and he has asked to do it on the phone. His submission to the judge reads as follows:
“As the Court may be aware, the undersigned counsel for President Trump, Christopher M. Kise, is unable to attend the November 1 hearing in person because he is engaged at trial in New York State Supreme Court. Given this conflict, the undersigned respectfully requests that this Court allow him to telephonically attend the November 1, 2023 hearing.”
Trump is currently facing two federal trials: one in Florida and one in Washington D.C. He is charged with hoarding classified documents and also with tampering with the 2020 election. He is also facing a similar election tampering case in Georgia and a trial in New York for paying off porn star Stormy Daniels.
On his end Trump continues to maintain that everything is a political witch hunt. Trump is also being sued in civil court for fraudulently inflating the value of his assets. Trump is also facing two cases seeking to strike him from the 2024 presidential ballots in Colorado and Minnesota, based on his alleged support for federal insurrection in the aftermath of the 2020 election.
