The GOP and its huge cashflow issue

Cashflow

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is having funding issues. The Republican Party also known as the GOP which stands for Grand Old Party appears to be in some trouble when it comes to raising money.

According to a listing filed to the Federal Election Commission as of October 30, it has less cash than it has ever had since February 2015.

An analysis by the Washington Post shows it has $9.1 million cash on hand. This is a far cry from the cash they had before the 2020 election cycle where they had about $61 million in funds.

Donors and Cashflow

In comparison, the Democratic National Committee has $17.7 million cash in hand. The cashflow issue is that in general is that donors are skeptical with the troubles faced by Donald Trump and the party’s ability.

Virginia RNC member Patti Lyman said the base is demoralised with the damage done from the chair election leading to a drop in donations.

RNC chairwoman, Ronna McDaniel said that it wasn’t something to be unduly worried about, “I think there’s more donors just not fully committed to their candidate right now, saying I am all in, and once the nominee is set, I’ll be there. That’s what I hear more than anything. And they’re really solidly in the camps of their candidate, which is normal.”

That said, there have been calls for McDaniel to resign since the GOP’s showing is so poor.

Republican Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy called for her to step down from her position as leader of the committee during a November primary debate.

McDaniels and the GOP

CNBC also reported that Trump was not happy with McDaniel’s ability to manage the party.

McDaniels however says that she is committed to supporting whoever is nominated.

“Whoever the voters choose is the appropriate nominees. I know this is newsworthy, but as party chair, I’m going to support who the voters choose and yes, if they choose Donald Trump,” she told CNN.
