Lara Trump releases tribute song to first responders, panned on social media

Presidential nominee Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump has released a new single titled “Hero” as a tribute to emergency first responders.

The three-and-a-half minute song went viral on Labor Day (Sept 1). The song’s second verse goes, “Without your bravery, we’re all out of luck/No, this can’t be denied/You got to be special/It takes a lot to put you last and everybody first/With your heart they could make gold.”

Despite the positive message, Lara received a lot of brickbats on X.

In a response to Medias Touch editor in chief, Ron Filipkowski, one Navy veteran in Kansas complained, “My dogs were rough-housing until I turned up the volume to hear the voice. They stopped and howled. This is some tone-deaf s—t.”

Independent journalist Kelly Scaletta posted on X, “Autotune doing a lot of heavy lifting here.”

Another person responded with an image of voters at a Donald Trump rally with gauze on their ears.

In general, people also found the music video and theme of the song to be quite ironic, considering her father-in-law incited the Jan 6 insurrection at the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. The incident led to hundreds of documented assaults against law enforcement throughout the day.

All in all, Lara Trump received many snide remarks with one backhanded compliment on X from Veterans for Responsible Leadership which reads, “Pretty brave of Lara Trump to release a music video when she can’t sing. That’s only normal if you’re a nepo RNC Chariwoman.”

The song, which was co-sung by Madeline Jaymes, was first released in May with the music video released late last month. The video has shots of Trump and Jaymes singing in a music studio and on a fire escape. It also has a photo montage of real firefighters in a staged rescue operation.

Lara is married to Eric Trump and has released other songs, including Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” and “Anything is Possible.”
