The prejudice between individuals of different races is a scary thought. Furthermore, we are not that much different from each other. Unfortunately a Black woman in Mississippi reported her son as missing 7 months ago. However, he was recently found unalived. There are several allegations regarding this situation.

According to Yahoo News, a grieving mother, Bettersten Wade, learned of her son Dexter Wade’s death at the hands of police seven months after he went missing. In March, Dexter was struck by an officer-driven SUV and tragically killed while walking along Interstate 55 in Jackson, Mississippi.

Furthermore, despite his identification and contact information for his mother being found, this crucial information was never conveyed to Bettersten. She tirelessly searched for her son, posted on social media, and called the police department repeatedly while unaware that he had already been buried in a common grave next to unclaimed bodies.

Now, she is raising funds to give her son a proper resting place.

In addition to this, X users state that those involved with the coverup of this entire ordeal should be prosecuted. It is rather shocking that this is happening in 2023. The original poster on X states that the mother did everything she could to find out regarding the whereabouts of her son.

Social media users are saying that prejudice is still strong in Mississippi, even in the 2020s. Furthermore, they claim that this is the exact reason why there are protests there at times. Lives are still lost at the end of the day. Others are sharing their fears of having encounters with good or bad cops.

Other users state that this is evil, and that it is shocking them to the core. However, it seems that this year there has been so much in the news. Despite that, some feel that this is one of the most heart wrenching stories they’ve read today.
